Sports Photography Tips

Do you like photographing your children in their sporting events? As the cost of SLR camera's decline, many parents are purchasing them and photographing their childrens sporting events. There are many options to choose from when deciding on what gear is needed. To photograph in daytime a 70-300mm 4.5-5.6 aperture lens would be best. The cost for a lens like this varies from $175 to around $1000. Like everything else, you get what you pay for. The difference is what the lens body is made of, type of glass and whether it has an ultra sonic motor for faster focus. When photographing at night or indoors a 70-200mm 2.8 aperture is a must. This type of lens will get close shots in volleyball and basketball. It is also great to use when photographing portraits.

When choosing a camera, choose one that has the capability to shoot many frames per second. Also, consider one that has a high ISO to allow faster speed and more light to your images.

These are only a few tips to consider when photographing sports. Hope that I was of help.
